How do I get the best identification?
Photograph both sides, one after the other, in even light without glare, with the coin filling most of the frame on a plain background. The date and mint mark are what decide most values, so make sure they are sharp. If the app says it couldn’t read the mint mark, take a closer photo of that area.
The app named the wrong coin.
Open the result, tap ••• at the top and choose Report an Issue. The report goes straight to me with the identification it refers to, and it helps me improve the app. Retaking the photos of both sides in better light usually fixes it too.
Why is the value a range, and sometimes just face value?
A coin’s price depends on its condition, so the app shows a price for each condition and marks the one your photo suggests. Many common coins really are worth face value, and the app says so rather than inventing a premium. Estimates come from AI and are not a professional appraisal: before you buy, sell or insure a coin, have it checked by a dealer or a grading service.
I bought Premium but it isn’t unlocked.
Open the app while connected to the internet: purchases are usually applied within a few seconds. If Premium still isn’t active, go to Settings ▸ Restore Purchases. The same button brings Premium back on a new device or after reinstalling, as long as you use the same Apple Account.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Go to Settings ▸ Manage Subscription in the app, or iOS Settings ▸ your name ▸ Subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date and you won’t be charged again. During a free trial, cancel before it ends and you pay nothing.
How do I get a refund?
Payments go through Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple too: request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
How do I turn off notifications?
Go to Settings ▸ Notifications in the app, or turn notifications off for Coin Identifier in iOS Settings ▸ Notifications.
Will I lose my collection if I delete the app?
There’s no account. Your identifications and collection are stored on my server under an anonymous identifier for your device, while your album pages and the “Check your change” list are stored only on your device, so deleting the app removes them. A new device starts with an empty album.
How do I delete my data?
Delete identifications from your history and coins from your collection inside the app. To have everything on my server deleted, email me with the app name. See the privacy policy for everything the app stores.
